Travel Plans 2021

Traveling 2021

The past year has been a grounder for travel for me. Last January was the last time I got out of Canada with our Orlando Girls Weekend. I never thought we would go through what we have but we made it and now with the vaccine in sight maybe we can once again safely start flying.

Will it be safe?

Since I can’t predict the future I cannot answer this. However if we are able to explore once again here are some things to keep in mind.

  • Wearing a mask- I don’t think we will see the end of wearing these for the year.
  • Choosing the destination- Since some areas will not get the vaccine keep that in mind when looking for your next adventure.
  • Restriction- This will come with the vaccine. Some countries might still have the 2 week quarantine rule.
  • Be respectful- When you go out be mindful of the people who have to work in tourism to keep food on their tables. Follow the rules and guidelines in place and don’t be rude.

Places to Consider

At this time New Zealand and Australia are the 2 that I would consider going to if I do travel outside Canada. One, I have never been to either and two, they have done a great job with containing the virus. I am sure you have seen the news and the amazing job the ladies have done keeping their Countries as normal as possible.

My plans for this year

This June I am planning, obviously covid pending, to head to Alberta and British Columbia. I have never been to Alberta and cannot wait to hike and explore Banff. And since I have family near Calgary I will be stopping for a couple days to visit them, then head to Banff and possibly Jasper. Have you been here? Leave a comment below and tell me what place you loved the most and why. Maybe I will add it to the stops list.

Another great adventure, I will also be heading back to British Columbia to visit a couple friends in Kamloops and then head over to Vancouver to visit another friend, finally getting a full tour of where to eat and what to do like a local. Stay tuned for that adventure.

Packing during a Pandemic

My things to pack has not changed much. I have always traveled with the thought of possibly getting sick and as a person who travels solo you need to think ahead. Here is a basic list you can print.

Still doing local

Yes the vaccine is here, will I see it in 2021? As a healthy women in my 40’s, maybe not. So I will still be traveling locally and giving you things to do in Ontario. I will be working on the best wineries to check out in Southern Ontario. Looking into best Camping Spots in Ontario and best Hiking areas. In either case, if you see them highlighted check them out.
