About Me

My Adventure Story
Wanderlust – (n.) a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world

Hi, I’m Jenny. Welcome to my wandering life!

About me. Born and raised in a small town in Ontario, Canada. I fell in love with travel at the age of 12. My mom took my siblings and I on a vacation to Florida, USA for Christmas. The sand, the ocean and the salty air had me hooked. I wanted to see more. What was the rest of the world like?

At 17, I went to England and Wales to play rugby and my love for not only travel but history began. What girl doesn’t love to look at a castle and day dream.

When I turned 21 I moved to Florida and started a job with Carnival Cruises as a youth counselor. I had it made. Getting paid to travel the Caribbean. This lasted till I was 22 and then I made my way back to land life, only to return 6 years later. Working on cruises was more than just seeing new places. I fell in love with meeting people from all over the world.

travel is my THERAPY

I’m a decaf tea and coffee lover! Yes, decaf lol. I have some anxiety so I try to avoid caffeine. I’m a lover of animals and nature. Let me show you how to find peace within yourself. I would say that I’m a big explorer but I’m not in shape to be climbing Everest! I push myself to limits, and endure injuries along the way. Yes I have ended up in the hospital a couple times on vacations. LOL. It makes for great stories!

I don’t travel full-time

My Journey To The Seas

I think anyone that loves to travel would love to do it full-time! However that is not always reality. My goal one day is to sail around the world. Not to your typical places but to those places rarely looked at on the map.

For now, I will take my two weeks vacation and go explore a new country. My girl friends and I will do weekend get-a-ways. And I will show you more of my beautiful province.

What I want to show you

My goal is to have you see the world, preferably through your own eyes. To show you that you can save for that ultimate adventure. That you can explore these amazing places and not break the bank. That those “scary” places are not that bad. That as a single women you can take that trip on your own.

I would love for you to get the courage to get up and go. Jump on that plane and go to your dream destination.

I’m a budget traveler. I go to places that have cheap flights at the time and stay in nice but not fancy hotels/hostels. Even in my mid thirties I stayed at hostels and would on the next vacation. I have realized that you don’t have to be in your twenties to be there. My ultimate goal is to show you that, you don’t have to be young or rich to take on that next journey. Here are some things you will find here….

  • how to budget travel
  • how you can save for that next destination
  • tips on where to eat and rest your head
  • places to explore the outdoors
  • ways to cope with anxiety and how travel has helped me with it
  • most important, you are going to find ADVENTURE!
Sometimes in the wind of change we find our true direction
