Wineries, Table top Mountain, Bars and Penguins
Now that I am on crutches for the rest of the trip I had to change my plans. I didn’t know that at the times but this part was going to have some ups and downs, but it was worth it.
The Backpack Hostel
The Backpack is a quiet, quaint place with great views of Table Top Mountain. I had a dorm room the first night and a private the last 2 nights. I also had booked this with Baz Bus.
The Cape of Good Hope, Simons Town, Boulder Beach and Penguins!!!!!
Maybe you will remember Valeria from the safari, and if you haven’t checked that out make sure you do. Well on the bus ride back to Cape Town we met again. So the next morning she came with me to The Cape of Good Hope, boulder beach and Simons town.
Cape point has some beautiful views and although getting to the top was not possible for me I still got a glance at the stunning scenery.
Penguins!!!! Oh I just love these little guys. Boulder Beach not only has amazing views you get to chill with fine tuxedo fellows. Making my way around the same following them was exhausting and yet I never laughed so many times in one hour as I did here. There were a few just as clumsy as me.
Time for a Break and East some Lunch
As we made our way back we stopped in this very cute town. Simonstown, is a town in the Western Cape, South Africa and is home to the South African Navy’s Naval Base. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula.
Time for Wine and Bar Hopping with Charldo
Let me introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world. This is Charldo. We met on ships years ago and we are now about to do what we do best, Drink! We made our way to Simonsig, a stunning winery with mountains in the background making for a perfect time to do a photoshoot. No I am no model lol.
Time for some grub at Charldos old college hangout. Ya, not going to lie, felt a little old at this one hahaha. The rest of the night we bar hopped around but no pictures from those places 😈
A Day of Gardens and Relaxation
We made our way to the gardens near Delville Wood Memorial for a stroll and maybe to walk off the hangover. There is something about fresh air and grass between your toes, that will take away the headache.
As we made our way around the square we decided to head over for some much needed coffee and breakfast. Little did I know that this would turn into a story that we will always remember and I am sure Charldo is going to kill me for putting this out there.
As we sat down at the Companys Garden a leaf fell. Poor Charldo thought it was spider, needless to say after a very very small scream, we had everyone’s attention. And I had a laugh so hard that it took away the hangover. The best part, I was taking pictures and caught everything on film. I love you Charldo.
It was time to say goodbye to my friend. I know this was not the last time we will see each other. I cannot wait for our next adventure. Love you
My Last Night, Another Bestie from the ship and another Anxiety Attack
Zach and I worked on the Carnival Destiny together, we called ourselves booth and bones. We had such a great friendship, so on my last night there we were able to meet up. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned. Just as I was leaving my hostel I felt an attack coming on but I was so excited to see this friend of mine I pushed through. After getting there he could tell I was not myself so we sat at this place for a while till I could get my bearings. Finally after a few trips to the restroom and Zach talking my ear off I was feeling well enough to head to another bar. .

The night ended perfect, knowing I got to see all my friends while I was there. Leaving was hard but I was ready to go home.
