Top Things to do

Dunn’s River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls is a big tourist attraction in Jamaica and for good reason. This is however no easy hike up a waterfall. On average it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to climb, that is if you make. We started with a group of about 30 people and only half made it to the top. You make your way as a human chain led by an experienced guide up the falls. You can stop at a few locations to take a seat and feel the water rush over your body. And a word for the wise, it is really cold.

Horseback Riding

Take a different approach on how you see a new place. No better pace to go at then horseback. Growing up on horses I was excited to experience this. We made our way to Hooves a great horse farm in St Anns. As we got our horses and started making our way down the trials I felt so at ease. These horses are well trained and the guides were great. When we got down to the water I decided not to do that portion but watched as my friend set out. This was a great place.

River Tubing

White River Tubing was such a blast. A group of us made our way in a jeep up through the winding roads to the top of the river. Now this is no lazy river nor is it class five rapids. It is the perfect combination of relaxation and heart pumping fun.

Jerk Chicken

Jerky’s Bar & Grill

I am almost certain you cannot go to Jamaica and not get jerk chicken, I’m sure it is a law. Now I am not for spicy anything but I will try something once. Jerky’s Bar and Grill in Montego Bay is a must try. Listen there might be better places and one day I will be going back to find out.

Beaches

Doctors Cave Beach

The one thing I didn’t experience much in Jamaica was the beaches. This is the only one I went to but loved the white sand and crystal blue water. There is not a lot of hassle on the beach but you can find some ladies to do braids.

Overall Review

I do love Jamaica. It does get a bad rap for having theft and being hassled by locals. I did get a few offers for weed but if you politely say no they walk away. There is a lot going on there and the locals are doing their best to make it a more friendly and safe place for tourists.
