After years of working one full time job and one small side job, only getting to travel 2 weeks a year, a friend of mine and I decided we needed a girls weekend. As someone who would save every cent for her 2 week vacations, this was never a thought. Girls, this is a must.
A girls weekend doesn’t need to break the bank. All you need is a place to rest, enjoy a glass (or bottle) of vino and some of your best mates!
Here are some ideas for you and your girls to think over.
A beach getaway in the USA
We decided, due to cheap flights, a beach getaway was in order. So how to plan that beach vacation? First your sea side escape doesn’t need to be oceanside. You can find amazing places on a quiet lake. The point is to find a water dwelling area that you can listen to the water coming in and maybe a stunning sunrise or sunset.
Picking the right place to stay is also key. If you are going oceanside, let’s be real, it can be pricey for waterfront accommodations. Do you need to have that? nope! We stayed a couple blocks up from the water and it was half the price.
Top beaches to visit
- Miami, Florida – great beaches, amazing night life and delicious food. The only tricky side is that most places require 3 nights stay. However you can find a lot that are on the beach at a reasonable price – 150 to 300 per night.
- San Diego, California – stunning sunsets, beautiful cliffs and beaches. I love San Diego and the people. A great spot to head to Sunset Cliffs.
- Galveston, Texas – Long beautiful beaches, friendly people and good food. I loved porting here because of the super nice people. A great place to stay around is the 61st street fishing pier. The hotels are decent prices and the views are lovely.
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – Great boardwalks, amazing nightlife and great patios. This was our first place for our weekend getaway and we had a blast. The oceanside restaurants with stunning views and amazing service.

- San Francisco, California – Great beaches, lots of entertainment and good food. Another spot in good old Cali. You can’t go wrong on the west coast. Want to relax on the beach or maybe surf some waves. You will always find great company here.
A weekend in the city
I’m not a city girl but I do love a great weekend with the girls, exploring, drinking and maybe catching a game! The great thing about going to a city is the amount of hotels and the ranges. Not only that but the nightlife. Now you may not come here to relax but to have a great night out on the town with your besties!

Take a trip back in time and feel youthful again. Relaxing poolside with drinks one day, to screaming your lungs out on a roller coaster the next.
